Vande Bharat Express Meets With Accident On Mumbai-to-Gandhinagar Route

 


The Vande Bharat Express is a short-distance train service operated by Indian Railways. Similar to Shatabdi Express, these are day train services that connect major Indian cities which are in a distance of less than a day's time. The trainsets can support semi-high speeds but due to the railway track speed capacity, multiple stoppages and traffic constraints, the operating speed of the services are limited to 160 km/h (99 mph) on a section of the Delhi-Bhopal service and 110–130 km/h (68-81 mph) on other services

A Vande Bharat express train, bound for Mumbai from Gandhinagar, hit a bull that was walking on the railway tracks near Valsad station on Monday evening, officials from the Western Railway (WR) said. The train, which did not suffer any damage, was running at full speed and dragged the bull with it for around 30 m before coming to a halt.


Following the accident, which took place around 6.30 pm, the train was halted for 20 minutes for the carcass of the bull to be removed from under the second coach after the main engine. It was then allowed to continue its journey, the officials said.

A cattle runover incident occurred around 8.17 am. Following The incideient,The Train was Detained for About 15 Minutes.

This is the third such incident involving this semi-high speed train so far this month.


Conclusion

Sumit Thakur, chief public relations officer of Western Railway said that the train did not suffer any operational damage. "It resumed further journey in 20 minutes. All the passengers onboard the train were safe."
