Apple Will Soon Start The Manufacturing Of iphone 15 In India

Apple's hardware manufacturing partner Foxconn is reportedly set to kickstart manufacturing of iPhone 15 series at its Tamil Nadu plant soon. A report from Bloomberg suggests that Foxconn is gearing up to assemble the upcoming iPhone 15 at its Sriperumbudur plant.

Besides Foxconn, the Bloomberg report also suggests that Pegatron and Wistron (soon to be acquired by Tata Group) are also said to be working on iPhone 15 manufacturing in India and are currently sourcing components for the same.

Apart from Foxconn, the iPhone 15 may soon be assembled in India by Pegatron and Tata Group, which is in the process of acquiring Taiwan’s Wistron plant in the outskirts of Bangalore, reports Bloomberg, citing sources people familiar with the matter.

Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 15 lineup next month and ahead of the launch, a lot of speculations and rumours about the upcoming phone have been doing rounds on the internet. From all models featuring the dynamic island notch to the iPhone finally getting USB Type C charging, we have heard a lot about the upcoming iPhone's possible features till now. However, as per recent reports, the iPhone 15 might finally be assembled in Tamil Nadu, India.

Apple has been manufacturing iPhones in India since 2017 and the iPhone SE was the first model assembled in the country. Last year, the company started manufacturing iPhone 14 just three months after the launch, and this year, the company is further closing down on the gap between its India and China manufacturing timeline. This means one could expect to see the ‘made-in-India’ iPhone 15 on the shelves within a few weeks of its official launch.

However, Apple has only been manufacturing the base variants of the iPhones, while the Pro iPhones models are still exclusively manufactured in China. A recent PTI report also suggests that Apple has also started manufacturing AirPods at its Hyderabad factory in India.
